It has been documented in children as young as three,  but it is adolescents who appear to be most at risk for developing unhealthy attitudes towards their bodies based on this perception. At a time where young people are focused on developing their individual identities,  they are also highly susceptible to both social pressure and media images,  which can have a profound effect on how they see their bodies. Having poor body image can have numerous negative effects: one of the most common is lowered self-esteem, which carries with it its own associated risks. For example, a study found that 50 per cent of both boys and girls in Grade 10 felt that they were either too thin or too fat. In the past, ethnicity was considered a protective factor, with Black girls and women reporting less body dissatisfaction.
Appreciate what you have and what you are because you could have it. Eventually with great persistence she was able to get a great opportunity that led to her success.
